For Dr. Melvin, Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center is family. A lifelong connection to the clinic drives his dedication to the community and the animals he serves. With special interests in surgery, spinal manipulation therapy, and nutrition, he brings a well-rounded approach to patient care that combines hands-on expertise with a genuine passion for helping pets thrive. He earned his DVM from Michigan State University in 2006 and became a Certified Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapist through Healing Oasis in 2016.
When he’s not at the clinic, Dr. Melvin enjoys spending time with his wife Carla and their two daughters, Madison and Cheyenne. He’s also an avid Star Wars fan, and yes, Grogu has a permanent spot on his desk. At home, he shares his space with Maggie the Golden Doodle and Willie the French Bulldog, who are constantly competing for lap space, along with four cats: Missy, Tippy, Miracle, and Lucky, who all enjoy keeping Willie on his toes. The family also has three horses, which are mostly his wife and daughters’ passion projects.
No two days are the same for Dr. Dahlgran, and that’s exactly how she likes it. She thrives on the challenge of tough cases and the chance to keep learning throughout her career. While she loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, surgery holds a special place in her heart. She earned her DVM from Louisiana State University in 2005 and her Small Animal Physical Rehabilitation Certification (CCRP) from the University of Tennessee in 2018.
Outside of work, Dr. Dahlgran is a talented colored pencil artist, specializing in animal and Celtic designs. At home, she has Emma, a German Shepherd who loves lounging in the sun, and two Red Bellied Parrots: Reggie (who mostly likes peanuts) and Ayo (who enjoys having her head scratched). If you ask her for a favorite animal movie, it’s Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Dr. Mertens found his way to veterinary medicine through a path that wasn’t always obvious. Growing up as a veterinarian’s kid, it wasn’t his first career choice, but over time he realized it offered everything he wanted: a career outdoors, connected to his roots, and right here in Brodhead. He values the relationships he builds with clients and their animals, and it means a lot to him to be part of the clinic he grew up with. He graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.
When the weather doesn’t cooperate for riding or driving his horses, Dr. Mertens enjoys woodworking. His household includes Ezmae the dog, cats KT, IronKitty and Koshka, a team of Belgian/Haflinger crosses named Hanz and Franz, and a team of Friesian/Fjord crosses named Mocha and Latte and his Missouri Foxtrotter named Memphis. Fair warning: his dry humor and sarcasm are often misinterpreted because of his deadpan delivery.
Dr. Debbie Thayer first started working at BVMC in Jr. High School as the “kennel Girl,” cleaning cages, making uterine boluses and stocking shelves! Having a father as a veterinarian, she says she never had any interest in becoming one, as she saw how hard her father had to work! In her third year of college though, she finally figured out there was no other job that seemed to fit her passions, people and animals, and that sealed the deal! ( also her father telling her she should either she be a vet or marry one, if she wanted to own horses someday!)
Right after graduating Vet school Dr Thayer had an amazing opportunity to work alongside her mentor, role model, and father, Dr. Don L. Thayer. For over 1 year they had the opportunity to practice alongside each other. She said she would teach him the “new tricks” in vet med and he would teach her “the old.” It was a part of her life she’s most grateful for and still enjoys hearing stories of her father still to this day from clients.
Dr. Debbie and her father have been blessed to travel to several third world countries serving others through Veterinary Missions Work. She says over there, their animals are their “bank account.” It give you a new perspective for sure and can’t help but change you for the good.
Dr Thayers Favorite part of veterinary practice is establishing relationships with clients and using her veterinary medicine to serve. She has a special soft spot for those adorable “senior” citizen pets and loves working up complex cases. She loves that there’s never a boring day at work and feels grateful to work alongside the most dedicated, compassionate, hardworking team, whom she considers family. Dr Thayer is proud that BVMC is still an independently owned practice, which is increasingly rare. And even more special, is that her father was part of this legacy.
In her free time Dr Thayer enjoys being with her family which includes her Husband, her four crazy kids, 5 cats, 2 dogs, 3 horses and lots of teenagers on the weekends which she loves!
Dr. Rachel O’Leary joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2019 and feels honored to care for the animals and families in the community as both a veterinarian and owner. Growing up on her family’s dairy farm sparked her passion for veterinary medicine at a young age, especially her love for working with calves and dairy cattle. Today, she continues to help on the family farm, giving her a strong understanding of the dedication and hard work that farming families invest in their animals and operations.
Dr. O’Leary enjoys building lasting relationships with her clients and feels many of them have become like family over the years. While dairy cattle remain her favorite, she enjoys working with all cattle and has also continued the clinic’s niche in pet pig care started by the late Dr. Pawlisch.
She attended UW–Rock County, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science with a Chemistry minor from UW–River Falls, and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. O’Leary enjoys raising her children, spending time with family, helping on the dairy farm near Janesville, and tackling projects around her family’s fixer-upper farmhouse with her husband.

Dr. Emily Hill started her veterinary career with Monroe Veterinary Service in 2019 and joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2021 with the clinics merged and is proud to serve as both a veterinarian and practice owner. She enjoys the variety that veterinary medicine brings each day and values the ability to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of every patient. Dr. Hill is passionate about continuing education and staying current with the latest techniques to provide high-quality, up-to-date care.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls in 2014, followed by both her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2018. She further expanded her skills by completing acupuncture training through Chi University in 2022.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hill enjoys spending time with her husband, Cortez, and their blended family of five children: Lane, CJ, Millie, Kingslee, and London. Much of her free time is spent at her kids’ sporting events or enjoying the outdoors through gardening, boating, hiking, traveling, and relaxing by the campfire.
Dr. Hill shares her home with a full crew of pets, including Benny, her Boston Terrier who joins her at work, as well as Gus Gus, Lola, Peanut, Beans, and several shop cats who come and go as they please.
Dr. Hill’s dedication to her patients, commitment to growth, and leadership make her a cornerstone of the Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center team.
Even as BVMC continues to grow, Dr. McGowan-Hanson’s vision remains clear: the clinic is a family. She believes deeply in building lasting relationships with her clients, from that very first puppy or kitten visit through adult and senior years, and being there when families need support the most. For her, every pet deserves the best care because they’re part of the family. She earned her Bachelor’s in Dairy Science from Iowa State University in 2015 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019.
She grew up nearby in Blanchardville, WI, where animals have always been central to her life, from the many dogs she grew up with to the horses and cattle she spent countless hours caring for in the barn. Outside the clinic, she loves spending time with her husband and son and their surrounding family. When the weather allows, you’ll find her outside working on her growing garden. She shares her home with Remi, a sassy Blue Heeler who can often be found tucked under her desk at work.
If you have goats, chances are you have met Dr. Duemler a time or two. Dr. Duemler has practiced veterinary medicine at Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center for 49 years, since his graduation from UM, and an owner of BVMC for 42 years. During his time at Brodhead, he has seen all kinds of large animals, but has specialized in dairy, both goats and cattle. He has enjoyed sharing his knowledge over the years by serving on multiple boards, speaking at many conferences, and even authoring a chapter in The Dairy Goat Production Handbook. Dr. Duemler takes pride in having an active dairy goat herd at home and will often take veterinary students to help him with chores and make goat cheese. Any chance he gets, he shares his love for the species, and tries to send unknowing souls home with a new (goat) kid. When not taking care of goats at work or home, Dr. Duemler enjoys showing at the Wisconsin State Fair and going to his off-the-grid cabin. Dr. Duemler also enjoys spending time with his family, locally and internationally.
Dr. Jeans is a past owner of Monroe Veterinary Service and joined the BVMC family in 2021, when the clinics merged. He was born and raised in Evansville, WI, where his father worked as a large animal veterinarian. Before attending veterinary school, Dr. Jeans spent 2 years in the Peace Corp in Africa, and then studied abroad in Trinidad, West Indies, where he met his wife, Simone. After graduating with his DVM, Dr. Jeans started practicing in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin at a dairy practice, but eventually moved back to the area for family. Dr. Jeans likes working with cattle, specifically dairy, but finds the most satisfying part of his job is the relationships created with his clients and colleagues over the years. Dr. Jeans was blessed to have raised his family with Simone, and currently has 2 grown children and 1 grandchild. He has 2 Doberman dogs that you often will find in his truck on farm calls. In Dr. Jeans free time, you can often find him working on his Koi fish pond, shooting sport clays with friends, traveling, and following Wisconsin Badger and Milwaukee Brewer sports.
Dr. Marisa Pintens (Klister) joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2022 and is one of the clinic’s dedicated large animal veterinarians. Her passion for veterinary medicine began early, growing up on her grandparents’ dairy farm in Northeast Wisconsin. That experience sparked a lifelong love for cattle and a desire to stay connected to agriculture through her career.
Dr. Pintens earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. Her professional interests include advanced reproduction and embryo transfer, as well as working closely with calves. She also enjoys mentoring students and sharing her knowledge about the veterinary profession.
She values being part of a team that is willing to try new procedures and step outside of their comfort zones. Having supportive colleagues to collaborate with and discuss cases makes her work even more rewarding.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Pintens enjoys baking and experimenting with new recipes, taking fishing trips with her husband, and spending time outdoors. She is looking forward to starting a garden and expanding the flowers around her home, and she has set a personal goal to read more books this year.
At home, she shares her life with her black cat, Elvira, who she adopted during her third year of veterinary school after performing a spay surgery. Elvira enjoys perching on the highest surfaces she can find and keeping a close watch on her surroundings.

Dr. Tia Simon joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2024 and quickly became a valued member of the team. She especially enjoys collaborating with fellow veterinarians and staff, finding that working together and learning from one another makes every case both rewarding and meaningful. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the variety of cases she encounters and the opportunity to grow through each experience.
Dr. Simon completed both her undergraduate and veterinary education at North Carolina State University, where she earned a degree in Biology with a minor in Animal Science before going on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Simon enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. She loves hiking with her dogs, camping, baking, working in her yard, and playing both indoor and sand volleyball.
At home, she shares her life with three pets who keep things fun and lively. Tito, her 9-year-old foxhound, enjoys sunbathing and claiming a spot on the bed. Shirley, her 6-year-old Great Pyrenees, takes her role as yard guardian seriously and loves playing in the snow. Thistle, her one-year-old cat, keeps a close watch on everyone at home and enjoys stalking both Dr. Simon and the dogs.
One of Dr. Simon’s favorite animal movies is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, a story that reflects her appreciation for animals and their unique personalities.
Dr. Simon’s enthusiasm for learning, teamwork, and patient care makes her a wonderful addition to the Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center team.
Dr. Alyssa Gathje joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2025 and enjoys working alongside a collaborative team that values communication and patient care. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is partnering with clients to find creative and effective solutions for their animals. Her primary areas of interest include surgery and reproduction and small ruminant reproduction, where she enjoys both the challenge and the impact she can make.
Dr. Gathje earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, studying Meat Animal Science and Dairy Science, and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Gathje enjoys baking, gardening, embroidery, and kayaking. She shares her home with her husband and their Lab and Hound mix, Sadie.
One of her favorite animal movies is Spirit, and a fun fact about her is that she once appeared on the news demonstrating how to wash a chicken.

Dr. Savanah Crews joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2025. Although she did not grow up on a farm, her undergraduate experiences sparked a strong interest in agriculture that continues to shape her career. She enjoys the challenges of veterinary medicine, especially the opportunity to learn, grow, and work closely with clients to support their animals.
Dr. Crews earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a minor in Biology from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville in 2021, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 2025.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, and spending time outdoors with her family. She shares her home with her dog Dipper and her cat Weebz.

For Dr. Bunting, one of the best parts of working at BVMC is that her coworkers are some of her best friends. She enjoys spending her days alongside them doing what they do best: caring for animals. Her favorite areas of veterinary medicine are dermatology and clinical pathology. She graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and their three cats: Jorah, Trash Can, and Eggroll (two of the three are rescues from the clinic!). Together, they enjoy trying new restaurants, watching movies, and playing video games. Her favorite animal movie is Homeward Bound.
Dr. Pakes fell in love with BVMC during her externships in veterinary school, drawn to the family atmosphere and the warmth of the surrounding community. She appreciates how vast and adaptable the field of veterinary medicine is, and has developed special interests in geriatric patient health, rehabilitation, and surgery. She is currently working toward her Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) certification. She earned her B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2017 and her DVM from the University of Missouri in 2021.
Her husband and father-in-law operate a family dairy farm, milking around 100 Holstein cows in a parlor, and most of her spare time is spent working alongside them. She and her husband recently welcomed their first child, a son named Henry, and they’re loving watching him grow and sharing their passion for cows and agriculture. The family also includes two Border Collie mixes, Finnegan and Rosie, and a three-legged cat named Biggy Paws who rules the roost and thinks he’s a dog.
Dr. Miller Woods brings a love of surgery and orthopedic medicine to her practice, along with a collaborative spirit that makes her a natural fit at BVMC. She values working closely with her colleagues to provide the best possible care for their patients. She earned her B.S. in Biology from The Ohio State University in 2018 and her DVM from the University of Missouri in 2022.
When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband Kyle and their son Augustus, as well as reading, hiking, and gardening. Her family includes Millie, a yellow Lab who loves hiking and bird hunting with Kyle, and two cats, Bellatrix and Gravy, who enjoy sunning themselves in the backyard. Her favorite animal stories are Charlotte’s Web, Homeward Bound, and The Aristocats. Fun fact: she ran a marathon with Dr. Bunting and Dr. Pakes!
Kari Grossen has been a dedicated part of Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center since 2000, beginning with a college internship that led to a lifelong career. Growing up in a farming family, she developed a deep appreciation for veterinary care and agriculture.
She earned her Associate’s Degree from Blackhawk Technical College and is a member of the Wisconsin Veterinary Practice Managers Association. In 2024, she was honored as Wisconsin Practice Manager of the Year.
Outside of work, Kari enjoys raising pigs with her husband, spending time with husband, sons Mitchell and Bryce, future daughter in law Katelyn and her extended family. She enjoys cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers and Chicago Bears. She shares her home with her dog Gabi, her Beagle Hasli, and her cat Sassy.
Attended Madison Area Technical College and received an associate degree in veterinary technology May 1985. Became a Certified Veterinary Technician in August of the same year.
She and her husband Doug live on a small farm and raise beef cattle. They have 3 adult children, Eryka, Kelsey and Austin.
They have a lab cross, Cali (Caliber) and 3 house cats, Butternut, Esther and Arnold. There are also numerous barn kitties and chickens running around the farm.
In free time she likes to go for hikes, fish, sit by the fire or just be outdoors. Also likes to cheer on the Wisconsin Badgers and Chicago Bears.
Laurie is proud to have worked at BVMC for over 40 years and to have worked with some great veterinarians and staff. She has seen MANY changes through the years and looks forward to seeing BVMC continue to be the progressive clinic it always has been.
Chelsea Rundle enjoys the opportunity to care for animals while building lasting relationships with clients and their families. Outside of work, she loves spending time at home on the farm with her husband, Derrick, and their two boys. Whether she’s outdoors with the kids or caring for animals around the farm, Chelsea enjoys the simple moments that come with country life.
She shares her home with two dogs, Navy and Indy, along with a variety of farm animals that help keep life busy and fun.

Marie McLinn brings a strong sense of dedication and adventure to the Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center team. She is retired from Search and Rescue, where she spent years helping others and working in challenging environments.
In her free time, Marie enjoys staying active outdoors. Her favorite activities include hiking, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and horseback riding.
Marie’s love for the outdoors and helping others carries over into her work, making her a valued part of the BVMC team.
Ashley joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2018, fulfilling her lifelong dream of working with animals. She enjoys the ever-changing, hands-on nature of veterinary medicine and finds it rewarding to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from UW–Platteville and completed the Veterinary Technician Program at Madison Area Technical College in 2018, becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is also Fear Free Certified.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and children and being outdoors. At home, she cares for two Great Danes, Duke and Bo, along with three cats, each with their own unique personality.

Growing up on a dairy farm, Crystal always knew she wanted to work with animals. She loves that every day is different and there’s always something new to learn. Her favorite responsibilities include monitoring surgeries and dental procedures, as well as assisting with feline exams. She earned her Bachelor’s in Animal Science from UW-Platteville in 2018 and graduated from Madison Area Technical College as a CVT in 2020.
When she’s not at the clinic, Crystal enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, attending tractor pulls, and going to music concerts. Her family includes Chance (a rescue Beagle), Sage (a Lab mix), Tula the cat, multiple outdoor cats, two goats, and chickens. Her favorite animal stories are The Aristocats and Charlotte’s Web.
Ciera loves that no two days are the same at BVMC. Her favorite areas include surgeries, dental procedures, and assisting with large animal care. The variety and challenge of each day keep her energized and engaged. She earned her Bachelor’s in Animal Science from UW-Platteville and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2023.
Outside of work, Ciera enjoys photography, watching her husband race dirt bikes, hiking, and traveling. She shares her home with two red Labradors, Russell and Benelli, and one fluffy orange cat named Rigatoni Macaroni, who was adopted from the clinic.
Kevin has been part of the BVMC team since 2013, bringing years of dedicated experience and steady hands to the clinic. He graduated from Madison College’s Veterinary Technician Program. At home, he has two cats named Daryl and Bandit.
Michelle Weiss has been a dedicated member of the Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center team since 1999. Her passion for veterinary medicine began early in life while growing up on a farm, where she was surrounded by animals of all kinds. She often followed the farm veterinarian during visits, asking questions and learning as much as she could. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong career caring for animals.
Michelle graduated from Madison Area Technical College (MATC) in 1996 and has spent many years helping patients recover and feel their best. One of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing an animal come in unwell and leave feeling better after receiving care.
Outside of the clinic, Michelle enjoys quieter hobbies such as reading and cross-stitching, as well as going for walks. She also used to enjoy bowling before undergoing ankle surgery.
At home, Michelle shares her space with two lively cats. Jade, with her striking green eyes, and One-Eyed Willie, a black cat with a big personality and only one eye, keep things entertaining. The pair are known for their nightly zoomies, racing through the house and up and down their cat tree. Their energy has even earned them the nickname “mini elephants” from her downstairs neighbor.

For Kacey, veterinary medicine was never a question. She’s loved animals and felt a connection to them since she was little, and this was always the only path for her. She thrives on the variety each day brings and has developed a particular passion for massage and rehabilitation therapy. Being able to help pets feel and move better is one of the most rewarding parts of her job. She graduated from Madison Area Technical College in 2013 and earned her CVMRT certification from Healing Oasis in 2022.
In her free time, Kacey enjoys reading (fantasy and thrillers are her favorites), camping, hiking, and spending time with family. She’s also recently picked up a new hobby: collecting rocks on camping trips and tumbling them into polished stones. Her household includes Tundra, a black Lab; Rooster, a mixed breed dog; and Cruella, a black and white cat.
Morgan’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is being able to advocate for animals who can’t speak for themselves. Helping pets feel better and supporting their owners through the process is what makes this work so meaningful to her. She graduated from Madison Area Technical College’s Certified Veterinary Technician Program in 2024.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and relaxing with a good cup of coffee. She has an English Labrador named Diesel, who is the sweetest boy and loves snacks and going on walks.
Gracie joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2024 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She enjoys the variety of cases she sees each day, especially the opportunity to assist with surgeries and dental procedures, which she finds both challenging and rewarding.
Gracie earned her Associate of Applied Science degree from Gateway Technical College and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2024.
Outside of work, Gracie enjoys reading, walking her dogs, and hunting. She shares her home with two Golden Retrievers, Daisy and Badger, who love to run and play together. She also cares for a variety of farm animals, including goats, keeping her life full of activity and animals.

Haley loves the science of medicine and nursing just as much as she loves caring for animals, so veterinary medicine was the perfect way to combine both passions. Caring for animals and the people who love them is what drives her every day. She graduated from Madison Area Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program in 2019.
Outside of work, Haley enjoys baking, crafting, and spending time with friends and family. She and her fiance live on a small farm in Argyle and are hoping to add cows, goats, and sheep this spring, right after their May wedding! Her pack includes Pepper, a six-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog/Hound mix who is playful and adventurous; Boo, an 11-year-old cat who’s a little temperamental; and Nemo, a four-year-old cat who is playful and cuddly. Her all-time favorite animal movies are Flicka and Spirit, which she watched on repeat growing up with her horse.
Hailey Atkinson joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2024 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has always known she wanted to work with animals and enjoys being able to provide compassionate care to her patients every day. She also values the supportive team at BVMC and the friendships she has built since joining.
Hailey earned her Associate of Applied Science degree from Gateway Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program in 2024.
Outside of work, Hailey enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as being outdoors gardening, hiking, and kayaking. She shares her home with her two dogs, Monty, an Australian Shepherd, and Obi, a Blue Heeler, who love going for walks and playing ball.
Her favorite animal movies include Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Hotel for Dogs. A fun fact about Hailey is that she has snorkeled with wild manatees during a trip to a Florida hot spring.

Cassidy loves that veterinary medicine is always evolving, with something new to learn and try every day. From surgery to appointments, no two days are the same, and that variety keeps her inspired. She chose this career because of her deep passion for animals and helping those in need. She earned her Associate Degree of Applied Science from Gateway Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program in 2024.
In her free time, Cassidy enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and going for walks with her dog. She has a chocolate Labrador Retriever named Moose who loves walks, swimming, and cruising around in his wheelchair. Her favorite animal stories are Homeward Bound and A Dog’s Purpose.
Beth joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2022 and is grateful to continue her journey in veterinary medicine alongside a compassionate and collaborative team. She values being part of a group that is dedicated to providing thoughtful, informed care while building strong relationships with both patients and their families.
While she enjoys caring for animals of all ages, Beth has a special place in her heart for senior pets. She appreciates the stories they carry and sees them as a reflection of years of love, patience, and dedicated care. For her, they represent the true reward of veterinary medicine.
Beth studied at the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology, where she built the foundation for her career working with animals.
In her free time, Beth enjoys spending time outdoors and getting lost in a good book. At home, she is surrounded by a lively and unique group of animals, including pasture pets such as goats, chickens, a pig, and a goose. She also shares her home with three spoiled dogs and two feline “overlords” who happily run the household.
Beth’s appreciation for the human-animal bond, especially in its later years, along with her compassionate approach to care, make her a valued part of the Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center team.
Kayla joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2022, bringing with her a lifelong passion for working with animals. She has always felt called to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves, and she takes pride in providing compassionate care to every patient she meets.
Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is seeing animals recover and return to their happy, healthy selves. Being part of that healing process and helping nurse pets back to health is what makes her work so rewarding.
Outside of the clinic, Kayla enjoys spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends.
At home, she shares her life with her 7-year-old Labrador Retriever, Oddis, who is very spoiled and loves staying active.

Amanda joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2022 and has a lifelong love for animals. She enjoys caring for pets and finds it rewarding to come to work each day knowing she can make a difference in their lives.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, attending music festivals, and online shopping.
At home, she has two cats, Echo and Duchess, who rule the house and love soaking up the sun, watching their little human brother, and keeping each other entertained.
Amanda’s passion for animals and positive energy make her a valued member of the BVMC team.
Raised on a farm, Bryce has always gravitated toward working with animals. His favorite part of the job is being able to help sick and injured animals on a daily basis, and he especially enjoys going out on farm calls with the large animal doctors. In his spare time, he enjoys getting outside to go fishing. He has a cat named Howie who loves sitting in the window and sleeping.
Lizzy Boll joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2022 as a Veterinary Assistant. She enjoys working with a variety of patients and finds it especially rewarding to help care for animals while building connections with them each day.
Lizzy is currently attending Madison College, where she is pursuing her education in the Veterinary Technician Program as she continues to grow in the field.
Outside of the clinic, Lizzy enjoys spending time with her dog, Paisley, who keeps her life fun and active.

Katelyn’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is building bonds with patients and their owners, and she loves seeing all the different personalities animals have. She appreciates the close-knit team at BVMC and takes pride in being able to give clients the answers they need about their pets. She is currently enrolled at Madison Area Technical College in the Veterinary Technician Program.
Outside of work, Katelyn enjoys hunting with her fiance, going for walks, and spending time with family and friends. Her household includes Tracker, a Running Walker Hound who loves being by her side; two cats named Fred and Wilma; and seven additional hunting dogs. The cats’ main hobby? Eating all the food they can. Her favorite animal movie is Where the Red Fern Grows. She is also an Emergency Medical Technician with the local EMS.
Rachael joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2023 and brings a lifelong passion for animals to her role as a Veterinary Assistant. Growing up on a hobby farm, she always knew she wanted to work in a field where she could care for animals. She loves the variety that veterinary medicine offers, as every patient is different, and she especially enjoys building connections with each animal she works with.
Rachael is originally from Evansville, Wisconsin, where she graduated high school. She is currently attending Madison Area Technical College and is working toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Outside of the clinic, Rachael enjoys staying active by playing volleyball and track, walking trails, and spending time outdoors. She also likes relaxing with her favorite TV shows and crocheting.
At home, Rachael is surrounded by animals. Her cat Sammy, also known as Sam Winkle or Winkles, is a one-year-old tripod with a big personality and a strong opinion about everything. Sammy loves food, snuggles, and carrying toys around, but is not a fan of wearing crocheted sweaters. Rachael’s family also has three dogs, Chloe, Duke, and Benson, along with four rescue cats, Toby, Sparky, Blackie, and Charlie, who enjoy soaking up the sun and exploring the barn.

Katie has been a dedicated member of the Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center team since 2007. Over the years, she has built strong relationships with both clients and their pets, and she truly enjoys being part of their care. Working with animals and the people who love them is what she finds most rewarding about her role.
Outside of the clinic, Katie enjoys spending time with her children and family. She also likes painting, fishing, and relaxing with word finds and puzzles.
At home, Katie shares her life with a full and lively group of pets. She has two dogs, Jax and Rex, along with 6 cats including Moe Moe, Tiger, Tyrone, Ash, Mini, and Jess. Her home is always full of activity, love, and plenty of furry companionship.

Melody joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2015 and enjoys the variety each day brings. She loves getting to know clients and their pets, building lasting relationships, and working alongside a dedicated team.
Outside of work, Melody enjoys spending time with her family, camping, reading and being outdoors. At home, she cares for her dog Bentley, along with three cats, Misfit, Trumpy, and Reba, and two goats, Tanner and Nibbles.

Bobbi has lived on farms all her life until she moved to Monroe in 2019. She has three daughters across the US; Bristol, CT, Kansas City, & Chicago. They are her pride and joy!! Bobbi has had numerous pets all her life. Currently she is co-existing with two cats, Jack & Piper.
Bobbi loves DIY projects. She also loves hiking, being in her gardens and being outdoors. She enjoys a good coffee on her front porch or back patio. She loves to go for “off the beaten-path” drives to discover new places.
Danielle joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2023 as a Client Care Specialist and brings more than 25 years of customer service experience to the team. Her background includes work in the hospitality industry, as well as banking and accounting, which helps her create a welcoming and supportive experience for every client who walks through the door.
Danielle has always loved animals and finds great joy in connecting with both patients and their owners. Building those relationships and helping people feel comfortable and cared for is what she enjoys most about her role.
Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, attending concerts, shopping, traveling, and relaxing with her favorite crime, thriller, and mystery shows. She shares her home with her beloved cat Peanut, a senior diva with a big personality and an even bigger voice. She also holds a special place in her heart for her late cat Monkey, who is deeply missed.
Danielle has a musical side as well. She participated in musical theatre as a child and played both the piano and cello. One of her favorite animal stories is Charlotte’s Web, a classic that reflects her love for animals and meaningful connections.

Haylee joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2023 and enjoys meeting a wide variety of animals while building relationships with their owners. She especially values the opportunity to expand her knowledge in large animal medicine, which has been a new and exciting experience for her.
Outside of work, Haylee enjoys spending time with her husband and kids and taking time to relax whenever she can.
At home, she has a lively group of pets, including her three-legged cats Hashbrown and Gnocchi, their companion Geneva, and her dogs Tucker, Dixie, and Jake.
Haylee’s friendly personality and eagerness to learn make her a great addition to the BVMC team.
Halie Pinnow has been part of the Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center team since 2018, working in Animal Care as well as Boarding and Daycare. She loves building bonds with the pets she cares for and helping them feel safe and comfortable while away from home. One of her favorite parts of the job is gaining the trust of nervous pets and watching them grow more relaxed and confident.
Growing up on a farm sparked Halie’s lifelong love for animals. Although she briefly studied graphic design, she found her true passion in animal care and hasn’t looked back.
Outside of work, Halie enjoys arts and crafts, reading fantasy and romance novels, making mead with her husband, and playing problem-solving video games.
She shares her home with three cats: Guenhwyvar, a regal Maine Coon; Syrinx, a sweet orange cat and parvo survivor; and Zuko, a rescued cat with a unique story and a bit of eye scarring.
Halie’s patience, creativity, and genuine care for animals make her a valued part of the BVMC team.
Destiny joined Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center in 2025 as a Boarding and Daycare Attendant. She enjoys caring for pets and helping them feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they are away from home.
Outside of work, Destiny loves spending time with friends and family, relaxing around a campfire, and canoeing down the Sugar River.
At home, she has a full house of pets, including her dogs Ben and Daisy, along with five cats, Moki, Lynn, Curry, Jovi (aka Squints), and Mr. Kitty, who keep life fun and busy.
