Veterinary Care for Pets and Farm Animals
Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center is a true mixed-animal practice, providing care for both companion animals and farm animals throughout Green County, Rock County, and surrounding communities. Whether you’re bringing in a family pet or managing animals on the farm, our team is here to help.

Small Animal Care
From a puppy’s first visit to senior care for an aging pet, we provide care for dogs and cats throughout every stage of life. Many families who bring their pets to our clinic today grew up coming here themselves, and now trust us with the next generation of pets.

Large Animal Care
We work closely with farm families, equine owners, and hobby farmers across the region. Our large-animal veterinarians provide on-farm care within approximately 30 miles of our clinic locations, and we also offer a haul-in facility for animals coming from outside that area.
Our Story and Recognition
Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center began in 1951, when Dr. Miller started practicing out of a garage in a community where he knew many of his clients by name. More than seventy years later, we remain independently owned and family operated, continuing to care for the pets and farm animals of Green and Rock counties.
Over the years, the clinic has grown to include a second location in Monroe, allowing us to serve more families and farms while keeping the same team and values at the center of what we do. Our doctors continue to expand their knowledge and training so we can provide thoughtful, practical care for the animals that depend on us.

Answers to Common Questions
Clients often have questions about appointments, emergencies, services, and clinic policies. Below are answers to some of the questions we hear most often at Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, we’re always glad to meet new patients and their people. Give either location a call to get scheduled. New clients are asked for a $65 deposit at the time of booking, which goes toward your first visit.
Are the Brodhead and Monroe locations the same clinic?
Yes, one clinic with two locations. Our doctors and staff rotate between both, and you’ll receive the same services and standard of care at either location.
What do I do if my pet has an emergency?
Please call us first, rather than heading straight to the clinic. Our on-call veterinarian will help you decide the best next step. Small animal after-hours coverage is available until 8 pm on weekdays, and large animal clients have 24/7 emergency access.
Call 608-897-8632
Do you accept walk-ins?
We prefer that you call ahead so we can schedule you properly and have the right team ready. Emergencies are handled as quickly as possible, but a quick call first helps us help you better.
What counts as a “large animal?” My dog is really big.
We hear this one often. Large animals include livestock and horses such as cattle, horses, goats, and pigs. Even large dog breeds like Great Danes and German Shepherds are considered small animal patients.
